Teens prefer texting on their Mobile Phones

According to the Pew Internet and American Life Project research, cell-phone texting has become the preferred channel of basic communication between US teens and their friends (See image below), with cell calling a close second. Some 75% of 12-17 year-olds now own cell phones, up from 45% in 2004. Those phones have become indispensable tools in teen communication patterns. The Social Media Factory have just acquired a new client in the Social Change Assistance Trust (SCAT) that is an independent fund-raising and grant-making development agency. This latest partnership provides an opportunity for SCAT to utilise Social Media in their organisation enhancing their current activities. The Social Media Factory team will also provide a plan for SCAT on using mobile technologies to engage with the organisations in the various rural parts of South Africa.
